My Poker Story - Where It All Began...Part 1

I learned the basic rules of poker when I was about nine years old. My uncle Phil, who would always take care of me and my brothers and sisters, taught us how to play Caribbean poker for sweets. I wouldn’t suggest you to do the exact same obviously, even though it demonstrates just how easy the game can be.

I Quickly forgot all about it for a long time. It wasn’t until I was 22 I learned about a variety of poker known as Texas Hold’em. My slightly older brother would always enjoy it on television and would often mention just how enjoyable it was. He quickly showed the whole family the way to play and we actually enjoyed our very own competitions in the home, simply for the pleasure and entertainment of it.

A bit later on, while I was in fact browsing the net, I came across internet poker. Initially I believed it was just for entertainment or perhaps pretend prizes or money. I was initially astonished to learn that not only is it possible you participate in actual online poker together with genuine folks on the web but that anyone can earn cash. Promptly, I established my very own internet poker membership, figured out the policies and then began messing around with a bit of spare money. Within just a few days of finding out about internet poker I found myself participating in it as well!

Regrettably my initial few days didn’t turn out perfectly. I actually finished up throwing away upwards of what I could actually pay for, as a result of doing plenty of stupid errors that lots of beginners do. However I didn’t quit. In truth, I personally understood that, simply by acquiring and maintaining much more practical experience as well as establishing my own expertise, there was clearly cash to be earned in internet poker.

After a couple of weeks I'd eliminated the failures, experienced a total re-think regarding my personal strategy to online poker and also created my own, personal unique method. This time around, I began simply by lodging only £100 straight into the internet account and then taking part in small stakes games. Furthermore, I shifted clear of cash games and towards tourneys.

I actually triumphed in the 1st 6 person event or ‘sixpack’ I actually went into! This set me back £5.50 to get in and then the prize was in fact £22.50, generating us a great £17 gain! On top of that, this filled me with a fantastic feeling of fulfillment, with the knowledge that I really could succeed in an important competition versus actual gamers who had previously been taking part for a long time. I just carried on playing these types of lower limit one table tourneys for a few weeks, upgrading towards £10+£1 events as well as multi-table competitions. Next, I was a far better competitor, together with some very nice if moderate money triumphs.

However I always desired a large win. Therefore I persevered. Putting in the hours and actively playing on a regular basis. Gaining knowledge through my own experiences as well as building my personal abilities.

Awesome Poker Hand

Check out this poker hand - it's totally awesome and one of the main reasons why I love the game so much. These are two top players, Sam Farha and Daniel Negreanu, going head to head.

In the end it's a straight plays a flush, both good hands and both players probably think they have won. The flush is drawn on the river which is a bit fortunate for Farha, but these things happen and you have to take the smooth with the rough. Hope you enjoy this hand guys.
